Last night’s dinner creation resulted in Cheeseburger Pizza. It turned out really yummy.

No, this isn't what the pizza should look like, and ewe!
Ingredients:
- Crust:
- I used this pizza dough recipe and rolled it out to fit our pizza pan, it made a pretty thick but light chewy crust.
- Note the recipe calls for .25 ounce of yeast… I had a jar of yeast sitting in the fridge untouched since the bread-maker machine burst into flames… and scooped out a tablespoon, that seemed to work okay. No idea if that is .25 of an ounce though.
- Melted some butter and lightly brushed the edges which made the crust brown and crisp up a little for a nice crust.
- Sauce:
- Mostly ketchup with mustard, mayo and pickle relish mixed together to taste. Made enough to coat the dough, not too thick, but just enough for coverage.
- Toppings:
- Browned hamburger seasoned with garlic (Matt says garlic is in everything I make, thanks Nana!), pepper and salt and some chopped up onion. Oh and threw in a torn up basil leaf because I have it growing fresh in our kitchen.
- Bacon bits because that makes everything better
- Fresh tomato sliced thin
- Coated everything with a layer of mozzarella and parm shredded cheese. It was what was left in the fridge and worked out well, but I suppose some cheddar would be more cheeseburger like.
Assemble and cook at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes, watch for the crust and cheese to start turning golden brown
There are some crazy people on these here internets…
Being a Mommy Blogger is apparently the hot new thing and Beccah Beushausen decided to throw her voice into the mix by detailing her pregnancy struggles of carrying a terminally ill child. She garnered support from many sympathetic parents and anti-abortionist advocates applauding her courage to carry the baby to term.
The story climaxed with a home birth, which was blogged “live”. Sadly the baby, named April, died hours after birth, but Beaushausen had a picture of mommy and baby together to post for her followers.
An astute reader noticed that the baby cradled in Beushausen’s arms looked an awful lot, no, exactly like the plastic life like baby doll she had in her own home. She quickly called foul and Beushausen’s story unraveled faster than she could delete her Twitter, Facebook and Blogger accounts.
The author currently has an apology posted in place of her original blog, but you can still see an archived image of her site from June first in the links below.
Wow… Internet hoaxes are certainly nothing new, but the backlash is certainly nasty when the hoax pulls in people by the heartstrings. Do you feel Beushausen did anything wrong by keeping from her readers that her blog was pure fiction? Or are people just too trustful of the things they read online, and getting duped is the price to pay for being gullible?
